NEWS!

April 1, 2008...Tomorrow's Outlook

As we announced in January, Graham has recorded vocal track for the Lizzy Borden cover tune "Red Rum" for the Norwegian project called "Tomorrow's Outlook". Now they have uploaded a 30 second long clip of the tune to their myspace. Please check it out! The song will be released on the Lizzy Borden tribute album "Baptized in Blood" sometime in 2008 by Metallicarchangel Records.

On a side note, Mario Parga, the lead guitarist on the Forcefield IV and The Day I Went Mad albums, visited Graham's place in March and renewed his friendship with Graham. We hope some good collaboration will happen in the future, but in the meantime, check out Mario's latest excellent work "Entranced" at his website.

February 23, 2008...Alcatrazz live on air!

Graham Bonnet & Howie Simon of Alcatrazz will be on "Junkman's" afternoon radio show on www.KNAC.com this Monday the 25th around 4:00PM Pacific Standard Time (USA) promoting their February 29th Paladino's show as well as other things going on. KNAC was the longtime heard rock radio station in Los Angeles and is now alive in well around the world in cyberspace! They will play a couple of live tracks from the Alcatrazz shows in Tokyo last May. We hope everyone can tune in and maybe email in some questions.

As for future live gigs, don't forget to check the Tours page as we have recently been updating it more often than this News page. After the Paladino's gig will be the Europe tour with Taz Taylor Band in April, and also some Finland dates with Joe Lynn Turner in June. Some plans in Australia are in progress too.

ALCATRAZZ ROCKS!

January 5, 2008...Alcatrazz rocked in SF!

Alcatrazz featuring Graham Bonnet had a great start in 2008 in San Francisco Bay. Rick, a long time GB fan in SF who has also attended a number of recent GB gigs in LA, puts it "it was the best show I have seen with Graham since Impellitteri 20 years ago...The band is tighter than ever and the back up vocals were perfect." The other metal fan also says "it was the best...it was worth driving for 12 hours from San Diego. Graham was in great shape." We hope Alcatrazz picked up some new fans during the show. Many thanks to the audience and, of course, to Y&T who gave Alcatrazz such a wonderful opportunity to share the stage in the Bay Area.

Good news is that Alcatrazz featuring Graham Bonnet will play again a short gig in Anaheim, California on the 18th this month. See the Tours page for the details. The band are truly looking forward to seeing you there!

Also, Graham will be recording a vocal track on the song "Red Rum" for Norwegian metal project called "Tomorrow's Outlook". Detailed info will follow as the work progresses.

December 23, 2007...Happy holidays and Graham's 60th birthday.

Today we would like to celebrate Graham's 60th birthday, and thank you so much for all the messages and greetings sent to this site. Here's a message from Graham.
"
Thank you so much to all the fans all over the world. I hope to see you all again next year. Have a great Christmas and keep on listening to music! All my love and thanks from me and my family.
Graham"

Please allow us to tell you that the Argentine gig on the 5th was a great success. The reaction from the audience was so enthusiastic that he couldn't leave the stage at the end of the show. The backing band member Javier puts it "This has been an incredible experience for me as well as for the rest of the band. The rehearsals and the show were truly unforgettable....It has all been like a dream and I hope we can repeat it very soon." Also, Graham appeared on local TV to play two songs (SYBG and ANL) on acoustic guitar. Overall, Graham and the band truly enjoyed the tour. The setlist, band members and pics will be posted on the Reviews page soon. Thank you, Argentina!!!

As for upcoming gigs, there will be an Alcatrazz featuring Graham Bonnet gig supporting Y&T on new year's eve in San Francisco. On January 4th, there will be one with The Taz Taylor Band in Hollywood. Furthermore, Graham and Taz will be touring extensively in Europe for approximately eight (8) weeks, beginning March 5th @ The Robin in Bilston, England. See the Tour page for details.

There are some other projects and tour plans in progress. We will announce them here when anything becomes definite.

October 26, 2007...Russian shows cancelled but a new-year gig with Taz confirmed.

Sad news for Russian fans: The previously announced Russia tour is cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances. We hope that there will be another chance to tour Russia in the near future.

Good news for American fans is that there will be a new-year gig with The Taz Taylor Band in Hollywood.
January 4, 2008    The Knitting Factory    Hollywood, California

As for Argentine gig, one more date is confirmed and to be announced here soon.

By the way, rest assured that the Bonnets have survived the mega-fires in California. Due to the strong winds, the fires have spread over Southern California and it came all the way to Graham's back yard. But he immediately shouted out "GET OUT!!!" to the family members and fought off the fire with a garden hose with his neighbor. No doubt the shout must have been loud enough to wake up and save all the neighbors. :)

BONNET ROCKS!!!

October 18, 2006...Taz Taylor show and new Alcatrazz plan!

As already announced by Taz Taylor's website, The Taz Taylor Band including Graham will play a gig at Brick by Brick in San Diego on November 3, 2006. September 17, 2006...Welcome To America!

The new Taz Taylor album "Welcome To America" has been released and we have received lots of positive reviews and feedbacks. Thank you so much! Please let us know your favorite tunes from the album, by posting it to our Forum page or sending your opinions to email@bonnetrocks.com.   Graham says that the album is much poppier than, and a little different from, the heavy music that he has been known for, but he truly appreciates it if people like the work. Taz and Graham is planning to play a few gigs in November in Southern California area. When the dates and venues are fixed, they will be on this News page!

As for the Elektric Zoo recording, it still goes on. Graham has already finished composing lyrics and melodies for 8 tunes, but there are still lots of vocal recordings to be done. In comparison with the Taz Taylor album, the Elektric Zoo stuff is going to be much heavier and contain progressive elements. He feels sorry to let many people wait, but please look forward to the outcome!

Also, there is a talk to tour the UK again in the not-too-distant future. Graham is really looking forward to seeing the UK fans again and we will post info here when any specific date is confirmed.

Lastly, Graham says the Finland tour went very well. Thanks for all the people who came to the show and who supported the tour. Good news to those who could not come to see Graham, the official merchandises with Graham's autographs are now on sale here at eBay.

April 23, 2006....Michael Schenker, Taz Taylor, Dario Mollo, Moonstone & tour plans.

Michael Schenker Group's 25th anniversary full album "Tales of Rock'N'Roll" and maxi EP "Revolution Mind" have been released worldwide! Both contains the tune "Rock'N'Roll" which Graham takes the outstanding lead vocal. The song is classic, thrilling hard rock'n'roll featuring catchy chorus part and, YES!, it is the Schenker-Bonnet combination that a lot of fans have been waiting to happen again for a long time!  The other tunes in the album are also great, so it is a must for all Bonnet/Schenker fans. Don't miss it !!

Also, tomorrow (24th) is the release date of the Moonstone project's album "Time To Take A Stand". Graham is on "Not Dead Yet" and Howie Simon is playing the guitar solo on it. Don't miss this album too!

Graham has just finished recording vocal tracks of eight songs for Taz Taylor's new album "Welcome to America". The works are being mixed down, and the album is slated to be released in the summer of 2006 from Escape Music (the label which released "The Day I Went Mad" album in 2000.)

Having finished the Taz Taylor tracks, Graham is now back to work on Elektric Zoo again. He has so far completed vocals for one tune, but more to come, of course. The band is looking to tour in Russia, Europe and the other parts of the world after the album is done.

There is a plan to play 7-8 gigs in Finland and nearby countries again in July/August this year. When any details are confirmed, we will certainly put them on this page.  Also, Graham has been offered to play in the Rock and Blues Custom show in Derbyshire, England in late July, but for this one, he has not confirmed this gig yet.

We hope that Graham will get well soon any way, and thank you for your patience.

February 7th, 2004..."Elektric Zoo" and Long Interview!

First off, we would like to thank you for your patience about the cancelled gig. Though Graham could not show up that night, Howie, Tim Luce and John Thomas went to the venue to see the fans who came not knowing the cancellation. There was a short session on stage, joined by Jeff Scott Soto and Glenn Sobel, and they played "Desert Song", "Too Young To Die", and "Since You Been Gone" for the fans. When we have any rescheduled date, we will put it on this page.

Today, we have exciting news! Graham will join Dario Mollo's new project called "Elektric Zoo"!!! The plan is to tour Europe, including Spain, Austria, Belgium, Italy and the UK, from mid-April to mid-May this year. Hopefully the recording of an album will happen in summer and there will be another 25 gigs in the UK in October. Yes, we know you are now very curious. :-) We will definitely let you know the details on this page as soon as they are confirmed!

elektric zoo.jpg (72944 ???)

Also, finally the super-long interview with Graham by Southern FM, Australia, is up on the interview page. We hope you'll enjoy reading it at  www.bonnetrocks.com/interviews.htm

January 22nd, 2004...Paladino's Gig Canceled.

paladinos-3c.jpg (28760 ???)

We are very sad to announce that the Friday gig at Paladino's is now OFF. Graham has serious sinus infection  and will be on antibiotics for two weeks. Graham has been seeing the doctor to see if there would be something he could do to get through the gig, but now he has to go through many tests as he also has very low energy. So there seems to be no other choice but to cancel the gig at this point. Very sorry for this short notice, but we would appreciate your understanding.

December 4th, 2003...January Gig at Paladino's, Interview and the Marbles Re-issue

paladinos-3.jpg (264233 ???)

Another gig at Paladino's in Los Angeles on Friday, January 23, 2004 has been confirmed! The band line-up will be same as last time (Howie Simon, Tim Luce, John Thomas and Stefan Svensson). Tickets will be available through the club. Phone #: (818) 342-1563.

A recent interview by Martin Popoff is now up on the "BW &BK" website. Graham talks about some on-going projects, which we believe will interest you very much. Check it out via our Interviews page at www.bonnetrocks.com/interviews.htm.

It looks like The Marbles LP "The Marbles", which was released in 1970, has been digitally remastered and re-issued with 6 bonus tracks on CD from the Repertoire label. The CD has been already released in Germany from SPV on November 24 and the UK release is slated for December 15.
The Marbles CD "Marble-ized", which was released in 1994, has been a hard-to-find item for almost a decade, so the new CD should be a must and great discovery for those of you who have not heard Graham's young & shining voice in pre-Rainbow years. Be sure to buy one at amazon.com or other shops before it goes out of stock! Thanks Kaz for the great info!

BONNET ROCKS!

November 23rd, 2003...About Sad News, Lochgelly Gig and etc.

Graham lost his father Lou Bonnet who had always encouraged Graham to follow his dream. We would like to express our deepest condolences to the Bonnet family....while we believe that Lou will live forever in Graham's heart.

It seems that "Rainbow Revival Gig featuring Graham Bonnet and Don Airey in Lochgelly, Scotland on December 6th" has been advertised in the UK, but the gig is OFF for booking problems. Don Airey will be on the road with Deep Purple on that day. Neither Graham nor Don will play the gig. Call the venue if you have  any question about ticket refund and etc.

We are now editing four-hour long interview with Graham done by Southern FM (88.3) in Australia, which covers whole spectrum of Graham's career since the Marbles era and even includes topics about "Three For All" or "Snow Goose". It will be uploaded on to the Interviews page hopefully by the end of this year. So please look forward to it.

July 12th, 2003...New URL "bonnetrocks.com", not "bonnet-rocks.com".

We have just moved to a new server to host this website at new URL. Sorry for the inconvenience you might have in the past several days. Now you can simply type in "bonnetrocks.com" without having to type "hyphen" between "bonnet" and "rocks". :-) Please spread this news to GB fan all around the world!
Graham is slated to sing at the Blues and Soul Festival in Great Gransden in the UK today! Those of you who are lucky enough to attend the gig, please send your concert reviews and photos to email@bonnetrocks.com. Thanks!

April 29th, 2003...One More Night at Paladino's!

paladinos-2.jpg (80130 ???)

We are pleased to announce that Graham will play one more gig at Paladino's on Saturday, July 26, 2003. With the band getting much tighter than before, we believe that the show will be even more exciting than last one. So don't miss it! Particularly to those of you who missed the February show, the band is very much looking forward to seeing you at the venue! Again the tickets will be available only through the club. Phone #: (818) 342-1563.
On a side note, David Wilson's in-depth interview with Graham has been published online. If you have not read it yet, don't forget to check it out at  www.electricbasement.com/interview_bonnet_april2003.htm

March 22nd, 2003...Tarzana Photos and Reviews

Here are the setlist, photos and reviews of the Tarzana show!
www.bonnetrocks.com/tarzana.htm   We hope you would like them. Howie is planning to do a few more gigs with Graham this summer, and Graham is excited about it. When the dates are confirmed, we will post them on this website.

www.the-fuze.com

January 13th, 2003...Here's the official notice for the California gig!

paladinos.jpg (255977 ???)

...02-16-03    Band member change - Ed Roth will not be playing at the gig due to his another concert project. In his place John Thomas has been rehearsing, and he will be playing keyboards and guitar at the show. John played at Graham's last two gigs in LA. So the band has welcome back his multi-talents and understanding of Graham's music. There will surely be a fabulous ensemble of the band at the show!!!

December 24th, 2002...Happy Holidays, birthday, gig news and more!!!
Hi, it has been a few months since we updated this page. I hope you have enjoyed the Impellitteri CDs and other music as well. We would like to thank all of you who supported Graham this year, and here is a message from him.

profile.jpg (12558 ???)

"I just want to say to all the fans in England, Europe and Japan or where ever they may be, I'm glad they still enjoy the music, not just mine but all music.  Where would we be without it.  Memories and times come back to us with certain songs, as corny as that sounds, it is truthful for us all!
Please let us have a great Christmas and lets hope for all fears to end for the children especially and may yours gods be with you....
Peace to all people.
All my love and thanks from me and my family.
Graham
.
"

Also, yesterday (23rd) was his 55th birthday. HAPPY BIRTHDAY, GRAHAM!

To U.S. fans in the California area, we have a Christmas present for you today. Graham will be performing a gig at 11:00 pm on February 21, 2003 at a venue known as
Paladino's, 6101 Reseda Blvd. Tarzana, California. It will be over an hour of Graham's work with Alcatrazz, Michael Schenker, Rainbow,  and other line ups, and will feature players from the System X album and Graham's band from his last USA gigs. (At this moment Chris Impellitteri is not slated to play, but God knows.)   Tickets will be available only through the club. Phone #: (818) 342-1563.

By the way, SPV/Steamhammer has released System X in Europe on October 21st. The new CD jacket was made under different concept. Check it out here.

July 10th, 2001

Dear GB fans in Europe:
First of all, thank you so much for supporting Graham for a long time. We are pleased to announce that Graham will be doing a show with his old friend Don Airey in England! The date is Friday, July 27 at 7:30 pm, at Portsmouth Guildhall, Guildhall Square, Portsmouth, PO1 2AB, England. For the tickets and direction, www.portsmouthguildhall.co.uk/default.htm.

Graham is very much excited to see his fans in his home country after looooong time. It has been twenty one years since he did the legendary show with Rainbow at the Castle Donington back in 1980. For old fans as well as new fans, this will be a GREAT chance to see that Graham still ROCKS, so don't miss it!!!

The good news is that a few more dates, including earlier ones, will be posted here very soon. Please check back.

June 15th, 2001

We have received quite a few questions about whether Graham's 1st and 2nd solo albums have ever been released on CD or not. The truth is that the 1st solo album was released on CD, coupled with "Line Up",  in 1987 only in Japan. But unfortunately it's out of print now. As for the 2nd solo album (No Bad Habit), it has never been released on CD in the past. However, some of these songs were included in a CD called "The Rock Singer's Anthology": Warm Ride, Is there A Way To Sing The Blues, Won't You Join Me. They might  be found at a used CD site such as www.gemm.com, or eBay.

Keep on Rockin'!

We have received quite a few suggestions about this website since the last update: Discography, past tour info, Japanese language version, more frequent updates, and etc... Thank you so much! To start with, discography will be uploaded soon!

April 28th, 2001...New Webmaster

re: IMPELLITTERI

Well I have written melodies and lyrics for the new CD. I have finished 7 songs out of a possible 12 track album. I think though it may be a 11 track CD as you always have that choice of which songs are strongest to make a good flowing CD. Keys and tempos are always an integral part of a CD's feel, when the songs are placed in a kind of 'dynamic' sequence.
Chris and I will be looking to do a tour in the middle of next year, I think, depending of course on how much the record company promotes this release---no hear-no see!! But I feel they believe strongly in the work we are doing, because they want a strong rock album in the vein of Alcatrazz, Schenker, Rainbow and of course the one Impellitteri album I participated in way back. These songs have that dark "heavy", guitar strong, kind of music that is terribly "manly".
I'll update more in a while, but I think the tracks will be going down with the band possibly in November and well begin vocals after Christmas.
So there!!!
GRAHAM

September 2nd, 2000...Gig in LA

While Graham writes songs for the upcoming CD, he will be doing sporadic live dates. Performing live helps keep the band in shape. Our friends at the Coconut Teaszer in Hollywood, California, have offered the band a convenient place to work up a sweat and make a lot of noise. The date is Saturday September 23rd at 11:00pm. Print this page and bring it in for a $2.00 discount.

Rumor has it that Graham-maniacs are coming in from as far as Japan and the UK!!

June 4th, 2000...Anthem CD Released in Japan!

As you may already know, the 'Anthem' CD has been completed and has been  released in Japan. Graham will be singing with the band in Osaka, Japan on July 11th at the 'Heat Beat' and also July 13th & 14th at 'On Air East'. It looks like all of the shows will be sold out!

There is also talk about Graham and ex-band mate Chris Impellitteri recording a CD together. It is too early to tell what other musicians will be involved. What a great recording that could be.

A few southern California dates will still be booked before Graham heads off to Japan for the 'Anthem' concerts but in the mean time an un-announced show took place in Los Angeles in May with Graham Bonnet maniacs flying in from Japan as well as cities in the US. What maniacs they were!!!!!!

November 1st, 1999...Congratulations go out to Graham and his wife on the birth of their daughter Tayla.
She is a real cutie and has added much life to the Bonnet.household (as well as some sleepless nights!)

graham-anthem.jpg (42519 ???) Graham is singing the last few songs on a record with Naoto Shibata, bass player from the Japanese band 'Loudness'...The solo project name is 'Anthem'. Here is Graham to tell you about it..."I will be recording with Japanese bassist Naoto Shibata this month to re-record the vocals for an album of his band's music."
"Apparently Naoto wrote the music with me in mind and wanted to have me sing them. The songs are very much in the style of Rainbow, Alcatrazz, and Michael Schenker."
If 'Anthem' performs live Graham may sing with them, and we hope to have the 'Anthem' CD for sale at the Bonnet Rocks Store when it comes out.
